FAQs About My Web Maintenance Services
What are "maintenance contracts"?
A maintenance contract is a pre-paid agreement for work to be done. Changes, updates and other work will be done for you at a rate lower than the non-contracted rate. It also assures you priority over non-contracted services.
Please contact me to have an agreement emailed to you.
Do I have to have you develop or host my site to get a maintenance contract?
No. I maintain sites created by other designers, hosted on any servers. All I need is login information for your web host before I perform services.
What if the work I request exceeds the amount of my agreement?
Charges for hours that exceed the amount of your deposit will be billed at an hourly rate over and above your retained hours. Additional hourly charges will be due within 10 days of the completion of requested work. You can also upgrade (or downgrade) any service agreement at any time if you discover that it doesnt allow enough coverage.
How often do I need to renew my maintenance contract? How long is a contract?
As often or as long as you like. You may cancel at any time with 30 day written notice.
How do I submit changes for my web site?
The preferred method is via email, either as the email content, or as an attachment. All attachments must arrive virus free.
You can also fax your request to the number I will provide you when I set up your account.
I will accept urgent or emergency requests by telephone, but ask that you follow up with a written request for my records.
What is included in your maintenance?
Changes to content, basic layout, and design. Insertion of new text, new photos, or other elements not requiring complete reconstruction of the site. Some editing of scripting or programming is also covered.
In some cases, new pages can be added if those additions use existing templates or layouts, and do not require custom or major changes to programming or scripting.
What is NOT covered by my maintenance deposit?
Hosting or domain charges. Site search engine submission charges. Custom web design or programming. Anything that is not directly related to the maintenance of your existing web site.
