About Us
Puget Sound Utilities was founded in 2006. Currently we are comprised of three principals and a field staff of eight. Since formation, Puget Sound Utilities has developed a staff with knowledge in all aspects of underground utilities, site preparation and commercial landscaping. Performance, value, safety and field engineering are the keys to our success.
Darren Grider, founder and chief operation manager's experience includes 20 years of diverse commercial, federal, state and residential projects. Darren has an extensive background in underground utilities to include but not limited to: water mains, sewer installation, fire lines, excavation, foundations and demolition. Some of his certifications include: UL license, cement asbestos pipe, erosion control, trenching and shoring, competent person and first aid/CPR.
David Grider is the business manager. David’s experience includes 22 years of experience in the financial business field. He has held various positions including vice president of operations for major financial institutions, corporate auditor, and senior bank consultant. He graduated from Saint Martin's University in 1989.
Ken Matthews is the field supervisor. Ken’s experience includes over 17 years of supervising crews of 20 plus on several jobs. He has been involved with numerous federal, state, commercial, and residential projects. Some of his certifications include: UL license, erosion control, competent person, cpr-first aid, trenching and shoring.
